Hace cuatro años nació la Grelería. Comenzó siendo una galería de arte en una plaza peatonal de A Coruña. Esta situación nos permitió organizar un montón de exposiciones, conciertos, ferias, talleres, comidas populares, y otros encuentros que fueron construyendo comunidad entre vecinas, comercios cercanos, artistas... Al cumplir dos años decidimos mudarnos a la montaña y llevar toda esa energía con nosotras. Así surgió la nueva Grelería, en la que también queremos juntarnos, crear, compartir y aprender, con un ritmo más pausado y propulsando cultura desde un contexto de calma y naturaleza.
El equipo que está detrás de la Grelería lo formamos Julia, Nando y Arturo. A las tres nos motiva crear y compartir. La ilustración, la pintura y la música son nuestras disciplinas artísticas respectivamente y disfrutamos al ponerlas en común. Nos encanta la sobremesa, nos gusta el bosque, disfrutamos del monte, de sus animales, de sus plantas, de su abundancia y de sus ritmos. Así es que llegamos hasta aquí, con el propósito de seguir conociendo y construyendo una experiencia artística colectiva desde el rural.

Four years ago Grelería was born. It started as an art gallery in a pedestrian square in A Coruña. This situation allowed us to organise a lot of exhibitions, concerts, fairs, workshops, popular meals, and other meetings that helped to build a community between neighbours, nearby businesses, artists... When the project was two years old we decided to move to the countryside and take all that energy with us. This is how the new Grelería came about, where we also want to get together, create, share and learn, with a slower pace and promoting culture from a context of calm and nature.
The team behind Grelería is made up of Julia, Nando and Arturo. The three of us are motivated to create and share. Illustration, painting and music are our artistic disciplines respectively and we enjoy putting them together. We love the after-dinner conversation, we love the forest, we enjoy the mountain, her animals, her plants, her abundance and her rhythms. This is how we got here, with the aim of continuing to learn and to build a collective artistic experience from the countryside.

Por qué lo hacemos?
Nuestra motivación es personal, nos gusta vivir aquí y compartirlo. Estamos convencidas de la urgencia del retorno al rural y queremos acercártelo un poco más :)
Nos motiva conocer y apoyar tantos proyectos creativos como podamos y disfrutarlos junto al resto de la comunidad local, sumándonos a la resistencia contra la despoblación.
Confiamos en las posibilidades transformadoras y constructivas que tienen las prácticas colectivas.

Why do we do it?
Our motivation is personal, we like to live here and share it. We are convinced of the urgency of returning to rural areas and we want to bring it a little closer to you :)
We are motivated to learn about and support as many creative projects as we can and enjoy them together with the rest of the local community, joining the resistance against depopulation.
We trust in the transformative and constructive possibilities that collective practices have.
